Stop Trading Your Peace for Their Approval

Stop Trading Your Peace for Their Approval

KKC_1610

Hi y’all, Jennifer Ledet here with quick tips for women who want to live and lead by choice, not by chance.

I was talking with one of my coaching clients recently, and she said something that stopped me in my tracks…”

She’d been working with a really challenging client — you know the kind — the one who’s just plain disrespectful.

She said, ‘Jen, the old me — before you became my coach — would’ve just sucked it up. I was such a people pleaser. I saw my old boss do that for years — taking awful treatment from clients just to keep them happy — and she ended up sick and miserable.’”

That hit me. Because how many of us have done that?

We smile through bad behavior to ‘keep the peace’ — but that silence costs us something.

Through our coaching work, she’d identified her core values — what really mattered to her —

and she realized her peace of mind was worth more than keeping a client who didn’t respect her. That’s growth.”

Listen, If you don’t set your boundaries, someone else will — and I can promise you, they won’t set them in your favor.

So here’s what I want you to think about this week:

  • Where might you be trading your peace for someone else’s approval?
  • What are your top three core values — and are your choices reflecting them?
  • And where do you need to draw or re-draw a boundary?

This kind of work — identifying your values and aligning your actions with them — is what I love helping my coaching clients do. Because when you lead from alignment, you lead with peace and confidence.

If you’re nodding along thinking, ‘Whew, I needed that,’ go ahead and follow or subscribe — I’ve got plenty more where that came from. And if you want to dig deeper into this kind of work, you can find out more about my coaching and programs here.

Until next time — keep leading by choice, not by chance!”
